Working here

Small team, no commission, and a clinic where saying no to a patient is a thing you get thanked for rather than questioned about. That is the whole pitch, and it filters more applicants than you would think.

How we pay

Salary only. Nobody here earns anything from what they sell, there is no bonus tied to treatment numbers, and there is no product target. That is unusual in this sector and it is the first thing most candidates ask about, usually with some suspicion.

The trade is that the salary has to be good enough on its own, so it is at the upper end for the role rather than the middle with commission bolted on. Bands are stated in the advert rather than discussed at second interview.

Training

A training budget per person per year, protected time to use it, and the expectation that you will. If you want to add a qualification that the clinic does not currently need, we will still usually fund it, on the basis that a therapist who is learning something is a therapist who is staying.

What we will ask you in an interview

To talk us through a case where you declined to treat somebody, and one where a treatment did not go the way you expected. Neither question has a right answer and both of them tell us more than a list of certificates does.

Open now

Aesthetic Therapist, Level 4

Four days a week including one late and alternate Saturdays. You would run peels, microneedling, clearing treatments and skin scans, and take a share of the acne programme, which is the part of the menu that needs the most continuity with the same patient.

Level 4 in advanced skin treatments is required. Laser core of knowledge is useful and we will fund it if you do not have it.

£32,000 to £38,000 depending on experience. No commission, no product target.

Aesthetic Nurse, part time

Two or three days a week. NMC registration required, independent prescriber strongly preferred, and if you are working toward the prescribing qualification we will fund the rest of it and give you the time.

You would work alongside the medical director on injectables, skin boosters and polynucleotides, and lead on complication management, which here means being the person who is rung at nine at night about once a month.

£48,000 to £56,000 pro rata. Indemnity contribution paid. No commission.

Both roles are fictional, because Frith Medispa is a demonstration clinic. The salary bands, the hours and the qualification requirements are the shape a real clinic of this size in central London would advertise.

Applying

Send a CV and a few paragraphs to jobs@frithmedispa.com. No covering letter template and no application form. Tell us what you are good at and what you are not, and name a treatment you think is oversold, because everybody in this industry has one.

Everybody who applies gets a reply, including the people we are not taking forward. That takes a couple of hours a month and it is the least anybody is owed for the time an application takes.

Speculative applications

Worth sending. The clinic is six people and a seventh gets added when the right person turns up rather than when a vacancy is planned. Two of the current team arrived that way.

We do not use agencies for clinical roles, so anything that arrives through one gets forwarded back to you unread.
