Ultraformer III (HIFU)

Focused ultrasound that heats the deep support layer to lift the jaw, brow and neck.

What it treats

  • Softening along the jawline
  • Under the chin
  • Neck laxity
  • Brow position
  • Cheek definition

How it works

Ultrasound is focused to a precise depth so it heats a small point in the tissue while leaving the surface untouched. Different cartridges reach different depths, including the deep layer that a surgeon lifts. Those heated points contract straight away and then trigger collagen remodelling, which is why the result builds over three months rather than appearing at once.

Typical course

One treatment, reviewed at three months. Most people repeat after twelve to eighteen months.

Who it is not suitable for

Not used over active infection, open wounds, severe cystic acne in the area, or over metal implants or fillers placed within the last month. Not appropriate where there is significant loose skin, where the result will disappoint.

Every treatment here is assessed at consultation first. This list covers the common reasons we would not proceed, and it is not exhaustive. Bring your medication list and tell us about anything you are being treated for.

Questions people ask

When will I see something?

There is often a small immediate tightening from the tissue contracting on the day. The change worth judging arrives between eight and twelve weeks, which is why we photograph and review at three months.

How painful is it?

There are brief deep pulses of heat, strongest along the jaw and over bone. Most people describe it as very manageable but not relaxing. We use topical numbing on request.

Is it better than radiofrequency?

It goes deeper and is better for lifting. Radiofrequency covers a broader, shallower area and is better for skin quality. Some faces want one, some want both, and consultation is where that gets decided.
