How it works
Fine absorbable threads with small barbs along them are passed under the skin through a cannula and then drawn upwards, so the tissue is physically repositioned and held. The threads dissolve over six to nine months, and as they do the body lays down collagen along the path they took, which is what holds part of the result after the thread itself has gone.
Typical course
One treatment. Most people repeat at twelve to eighteen months.
Who it is not suitable for
Not used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, on anticoagulants without your prescriber's agreement, have an autoimmune condition affecting healing, or have an active infection. It is not a substitute for a facelift where laxity is advanced.

Questions people ask
How long does it last?
Most people see the benefit for twelve to eighteen months. The mechanical lift fades as the threads absorb, and the collagen laid down along their path carries some of the result beyond that.
Can you see or feel the threads?
You should not see them. You can sometimes feel a firm line under the skin for the first few weeks, and there is often a puckering at the entry point that settles within two weeks.
What if I do not like it?
Threads cannot be removed easily once placed, which is why we are conservative about who we treat. If we think fillers, energy or nothing at all would serve you better, we will say so.
